Green Jay Volleyball Caps Historic Inaugural Season
Jackson, TN – The Jackson State Community College Green Jay Volleyball program closed out its inaugural season with pride, posting an impressive 21-12 overall record and earning respect across the Tennessee Community College Athletic Association (TCCAA).
The Green Jays' remarkable first-year campaign came to an end in the opening round of the TCCAA/Region 7 Tournament, where they faced a talented Walters State squad. Despite the early exit, the program's foundation has been firmly established for future success.
Head Coach Alexis Kapales and staff guided the Green Jays through a historic season marked by competitive play, growth, and resilience. Jackson State showcased one of the top defenses in the league and earned recognition from coaches across the conference, placing three student-athletes on the All-Region and All-TCCAA teams:
-
1st Team All-Region/TCCAA: Teagan Reed and Maddie Hopper
-
2nd Team All-Region/TCCAA: Emily Papple
"These young women set the tone for what Green Jay Volleyball will represent—grit, excellence, and unity," said Athletic Director Dr. Kevin K. Lynum. "To win over twenty matches in year one speaks volumes about their commitment and leadership."
With a strong core of returners and renewed energy heading into 2026, the future of Green Jay Volleyball looks bright as the team continues to build a tradition of excellence both on and off the court.
