Green Jay Volleyball Adds Lauren Petty as Assistant Coach
A Proven Leader Joins the Green Jays
JACKSON, Tenn. — Jackson State Community College Head Volleyball Coach Alexis Kapales has announced the addition of Lauren Petty as Assistant Women's Volleyball Coach for the Green Jays.
Petty joins the Green Jay program after serving as the Head Volleyball Coach at Trinity Christian Academy, where she helped develop student-athletes both on and off the court while building a culture centered on competitiveness, accountability, and academic success.
"We are excited to welcome Lauren to our Green Jay family," said Kapales. "Her experience as a head coach, passion for student-athlete development, and commitment to building relationships make her a tremendous addition to our program. Lauren brings great energy and a strong understanding of the game, and I know she will have an immediate impact on our student-athletes."
At Trinity Christian Academy, Petty led all aspects of the volleyball program, including player development, practice planning, match preparation, recruiting assistance, and program administration. Her experience in developing young athletes and fostering team culture aligns with the continued growth of the Green Jay Volleyball program.
"I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to join Jackson State Community College," said Petty. "The vision Coach Kapales has for this program is exciting, and I am looking forward to helping our student-athletes grow as competitors, students, and leaders. I can't wait to get to work and contribute to the continued success of Green Jay Volleyball."
Petty joins a program coming off a successful inaugural season that saw the Green Jays record 21 victories and establish themselves as a competitive force within the Tennessee Community College Athletic Association.
As Assistant Coach, Petty will assist with recruiting, player development, scouting, practice planning, academic support initiatives, and day-to-day program operations.
The Green Jays are scheduled to open the 2026 season August 21-22 at the SIC Tournament before hosting Rust College and Northwest Shoals in their home opener on August 25.
