Green Jay Volleyball Announces 2026 Schedule
Second-Year Program Set for Challenging Regional and National Slate
JACKSON, Tenn. — Jackson State Community College Head Volleyball Coach Alexis Kapales and the Green Jay Volleyball program have announced the 2026 schedule, featuring a competitive mix of conference opponents, regional powers, national tournament participants, and four-year competition.
The schedule marks the second season of competition for the Green Jays after an impressive inaugural campaign that saw the program win 21 matches and establish itself as one of the rising programs in the Tennessee Community College Athletic Association.
"Our goal is to continue building upon the foundation established during our first season," said Kapales. "This schedule will challenge us every step of the way and provide our student-athletes opportunities to compete against quality opponents while preparing for conference and postseason play."
The Green Jays open the season August 21-22 at the SIC Tournament before hosting Rust College and Northwest Shoals on August 25 in Jackson. The team will also travel to the ECC Missouri Tournament on August 29-30 before beginning a demanding slate of regional and conference competition.
The schedule includes matchups against TCCAA rivals Chattanooga State, Cleveland State, Dyersburg State, Pellissippi State, Roane State, Volunteer State, and Walters State. Jackson State will also face strong non-conference competition from institutions including Northeast Mississippi Community College, Campbellsville University, Trevecca Nazarene University, Rust College, St. Louis Community College, and Central Alabama Community College.
Home competition at The Nest will feature several key conference contests, including matches against Roane State, Walters State, Pellissippi State, Chattanooga State, Cleveland State, Volunteer State, and Dyersburg State. The Green Jays will also host Rust College, Northwest Shoals, St. Louis Community College, BMC JV, and Southwest Community College.
Conference play will intensify throughout September and October as the Green Jays position themselves for the TCCAA Conference Tournament, scheduled for November 5-7. The season's ultimate goal remains a berth in the NJCAA Division II Volleyball National Tournament, scheduled for November 19-21.
