Green Jay Cross Country Announces 2026 Schedule

JACKSON, Tenn. — Jackson State Community College Head Cross Country Coach Arthur Priddy has announced the 2026 men's and women's cross country schedule, highlighted by a home invitational, regional championship competition, and a return to the NJCAA National Championships.

The 2026 campaign continues the growth of the Green Jay Cross Country program, which quickly established itself among the Tennessee Community College Athletic Association's most competitive programs during its inaugural season.

"Our student-athletes continue to embrace the challenge of competing at a high level while representing Jackson State with pride," said Priddy. "This schedule provides excellent opportunities to measure ourselves against strong competition throughout the region as we prepare for championship season."

The Green Jays begin preparations in August with a pair of team time trials hosted on campus before opening official competition at the Freed-Hardeman Invitational on August 29 at Pinson Mounds Park.

Jackson State will travel to several premier meets throughout the fall, including the UNA XC Invitational, Twilight at John Hunt Park, Mountain Goat Open, and the Warhawk Invitational.

A highlight of the season will come on September 12 when Jackson State hosts the annual Green Jay Invitational, giving local fans an opportunity to watch the Green Jays compete on their home course.

The championship portion of the season begins with the NJCAA Region 7 Championships on October 23 before qualifying runners advance to the NJCAA National Cross Country Championships on November 7 at John Hunt Park in Huntsville, Alabama.

Last season, Jackson State qualified athletes for the NJCAA National Championships and earned top-three finishes at the TCCAA Championships. The Green Jays will look to build upon that success throughout the 2026 season.
