History in the Making: Jackson State Hosts First-Ever Cross Country Intra-Squad Scrimmage
Jackson, TN – This Saturday at 8 a.m., history will be made as Jackson State Community College hosts its first-ever intra-squad cross country scrimmage. For the first time, the Green Jays will take the course, marking the beginning of a new era for JSCC Athletics.
The inaugural cross country roster features five men and seven women who have spent the summer preparing for this milestone moment. Through heat, high mileage, and disciplined training, the team has built a strong foundation, ready to be tested in competition.
Head Coach Arthur Priddy expressed his excitement heading into the scrimmage. "I'm most excited to set 'em loose," Priddy said with a smile. "And that's for both men and women. They have been in a base period all summer, so we've had them in high mileage and holding their paces back. This Saturday, we can finally let them go and see where their fitness is."
The scrimmage will provide a spirited test as teammates push one another in a competitive environment, setting the tone for the season ahead. But for JSCC, it represents something even bigger—the first chapter of Green Jay cross country history.
Fans, families, and supporters are encouraged to attend, cheer loudly, and witness this landmark moment as the Green Jays launch their cross country journey.
This Saturday, the race begins, and so does history. For full schedules and updates, visit jsccgreenjays.com or follow @JSCCGreenJays on social media.
